Clutch Style: Knee Deep in Stockings
Moving into spring, I expect to see a wide array of legwear accompanying full skirts and ditsy dresses. Along with the classic school girl knee-high, other variations include girly ankle socks and feminine thigh high stockings. For inspiration, think Cher Horowitz and her Clueless posse.

Coincidentally, the Sex & the City movie premiers mid spring and after seeing this fashion-spiring Carrie look (one of many), millions of fauxshionistas will be sporting grey knee highs the very next day. By the way, “fauxshionista” is my lingo for girls who only buy something because they see “Carrie” or Kate Moss wear it. She’s that girl that works at Nordstrom that spits a good fashion game but wouldn’t be able to get dressed without her Us Weekly. Don’t get me wrong though, Kate Moss totally sold me on my favorite jeans, the J Brand Lovestory, but it’s all about dressing in what makes you feel good and finding your own style.

Good thing we have a couple more months before the movie comes out and the “fauxs” pick up on it! Here are some of my recs for fab leg decor including knee-highs, thigh-highs, ankle socks and even legwarmers:

From top left:
- Emilio Cavallini toeless over the knee: Asos, 17.34
- Knit legwarmers: Forever 21, $5.80
- Emilio Cavallini stripe hold ups: Asos, $21.67
- Blondoll metallic footsie: Asos, $39.01
- Lurex legwarmers: Asos, $10.84
- Over-the-knee tri-tone footless sock: AA, $12
- Argyle knee-high willies: J. Crew, $12.50
- Emilio Cavalli cut out contrast socks: Asos, $13.00
- Argyle mesh over the knee: Free People, $28
- Collar top socks: Asos, $13
- Gipsy lace up thigh socks: Asos, $17.34
- Diamond knee-high socks: Banana Republic, $12.50
I feel as though all my favorite outfits/accessories from when I was a little girl would come in handy, so maybe I’ll start flipping through the old family photo albums. Party dresses, puffed skirts, knee highs, frilled socks, jumpers, bright colored shades… What’s next, oversized bow clips over your pony tails? Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised in case you want to get a head start.
Tarina Tarantino makes a cute clip-in bow…

Kate Moss SS08 Collection @ Topshop
I’ve been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Kate Moss’ spring and summer 2008 Topshop collection and today was the official launch. Overall I am a little underwhelmed because I was expecting new and exciting pieces that stand out from Topshop’s other inventory, but there are a few saucy pieces that might work their way into my closet.
Complete with everything from flirty feminine dresses to an edgy frayed vest and a classic boyfriend blazer, Kate lives up to her reputaion. I am going to buy one of the dresses, but need to decide which one (if there’s even time, since this stuff usually flies off the shelves):
From top left:
- Daisy print tea dress: £60.00 (about $120)
- Star print dress: £60.00 (about $120)
- Tie shoulder lurex dress: £40.00 (about $80)
- Suede fringe waist coat: £50.00 (about $100)
- Boyfriend blazer: £70.00 (about $140)
- Long sleeved striped cardigan: £40.00(about $80 )
P.S. Happy St. Patty’s Day!
UPDATE: I ordered the daisy print tea dress on 3/18. I’ll let you know how it turns out!
Clutch22.com Site Update
My sincere apologies if you’ve had trouble accessing Clutch22.com over the past two days. I don’t want to bore you with all the technical jargon, but the site has been transitioned to a new and more reliable hosting company that can better support my daily fashion babblings. It’s more expensive too, so I suppose I can cut a pair of shoes from my fashion budget this month.
Sadly, some of my favorite comments were lost just before the switch. Feel free to show some love or share your thoughts (it always brightens my day).
I felt deprived not being able to write for 2 days, but the time away allowed me to storm up some ”clutch” posts I think you’re going to enjoy.
Thanks for stopping by and come back soon!

Lipstick Jungle’s Bonfire Mag: A Virtual Reality
I have to admit I was a little partial to Cashmere Mafia when I first started watching Lipstick Jungle (probably b/c it premiered first). Now that I’ve gotten to know the characters more, it’s really starting to grow on me. Especially fashion designer, Victory Ford!

NBC seems to have an edge on ABC when it comes to the rival shows. While ABC’s Cashmere Mafia has Sex & the City producer, Darren Star, on board, NBC’s Lipstick Jungle was written by none other than the woman who gave birth to Carrie Bradshaw’s story, Candace Bushnell.

On the show, Nico Reilly (Kim Raver) is the Editor in Chief of the magazine, and now it’s a virtual reality that ties into the show’s storyline.
The icing on the cake is Project Runway alum and Season 2 finalist, Daniel Vosovic oversees all the fashion content.

Though the content of the virtual mag can’t compete with the fierce realities brought to us by the Vogues and InStyle’s of the world, I’m impressed with NBC’s move to cater to the interactive trends us Gen-Yers go crazy for!
Apparently, ABC seems to agree. Cashmere Mafia now too has its own E-magazine. If only they’d start showing new episodes…

All that said, I need to give a little love to Lucy Liu and her ADORABLE character on Cashmere Mafia. Hands down, she wins my vote for best dressed between the two shows.
