DIY Burberry Studded Sandals
So I’ve been tracking JuliAM of Over the Undies since she set out a month ago to create her own version of “Burberry badass-ness” inspired by the studded platforms pictured below. Though the Burberry’s were love at first site for me also, I wasn’t feeling near as ambitious as JuliAM, so I decided to watch from afar to see where her talents led her… The end result? AMAZING!
Inspiration: Burberry Studded Platform Sandal, $940
Starting from scratch:
Supplies included black platform sandals (try these Carlos Santana’s from Zappos), pliars, hundreds of pyramid studs, multisurface adhesive and countless hours of time (and patience).

In experimenting with different glues, I think she found this adhesive worked best.

Mid-way: Looking good!

End result: Jaw-dropping!

JuliAM, if you’re reading this, we’d love to know how long it took, where you purchased the sandals and any final thoughts on the DIY. Seriously, this is truly fashion-spiring work!

Clutch Look: Dress Under Skirt
I wore this outfit last week to a fundraising luncheon for Washington Women In Need, a charity in Bellevue that provides low income women with life-changing grants (for school, medical, dental and counseling). Since I normally dress a little quirky (especially for Seattle), I thought it’d be best to tone it down and dress like I was going to tea with Grandma Babe.
Though the outfit blended in just fine, I was secretly pacified by the fact I had converted my Kate Moss Topshop dress into a frilly shirt by layering a skirt over top.
- Dress/top: Topshop, $120
- Skirt: Limited, $20
- Gold wedges: Bebe, $110
- Necklace: Urban, $18
Here’s a pic of the dress (as a dress) from my post last month:

Here are six of my ‘quirks’
- First and foremost, my boyfriend’s name is Jordan (my name is Jordana)…some of our friends actually address us as Jordan/a.
- I eat frozen macaroni dinners at least three times per week, but here’s the quirk - I cook it first, put it in the fridge for a few min, sprinkle bread crumbs on top and broil it in the oven to make it crunchy.
- You’ll probably notice in some of my pics, but I always have at least two hairbands on my right wrist. Why? Not really sure, I guess I always worry I’ll need one plus a backup.
- I put a ridiculous amount of hotsauce on EVERYTHING…except sweets.
- My palette is really strong, so I can’t eat fish without wanting to gag…same with certain beers and wines. In short, I’m a horrible sushi date!
- I have three teal streaks in my hair…needed some edge.
