Clutch Look: Sheer 90′s Pop
Along with neon colors as mentioned in my previous post, I’ve been channeling other trends from the 80′s and 90′s like cuffed jeans and sheer fabrics. Conveniently, the look below includes all three.

Wearing:
- Sheer tee: AA, $26
- Deep V tee with neon pink feathers: Urban, $26
- Jeans: People’s Liberation (Tanya straight leg), $180
- T-strap platforms: Aldo, $100
Clutch Trend: Fluor-essence
Expect to see lots of neon colors this spring and summer whether nail polish, tops, legwear or accessories. I’ve picked up a few pieces over the past month, so watch for hints of highlighter colors in upcoming outfit posts.
For inspiration:
I had to throw in a Saved By The Bell reference given its heavy influence on my childhood wardrobe…didn’t all girls want to be Kelly Kapowski?
Clutch Look: Layered Legwear
I know my legwear may seem a little dark for spring…in most places that is. Last weekend we had snow in Seattle and the weekend before it was 70 degrees…The only positive thing about freakishly inconsistent weather is being able to roll over your favorite things from your winter wardrobe into your spring looks.

Wearing:
- Floral striped blouse/dress: Urban, $20
- T-shirt dress (underneath): AA, $30
- Belt: Limited, $7
- Opaque tights: Nordstrom, $12
- Trouser socks: Target, $3
- Pumps: Steven, $120
- Leather jacket: Express, $198
Indulgences…
There’s nothing like a little retail therapy to take the stress off. My boyfriend is convinced I have a “shopping problem”. He really likes the show Intervention, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he was planning one of his own.
This is what I call a “clutch 22″ (playful use of catch 22 which inspired the name of my blog) : I need to save money, but my livelihood depends on fashion, which requires excessive shopping. At least my crafty use of promo codes eases his mind a little.
After five hours of shopping in Downtown Seattle, here’s what made it home:

Items (added a couple of extra pics since the shot above doesn’t do justice):
1. Striped tube top/dress: Bailey 44, $96
2. Studded t-strap platforms: Aldo, $100

4. Leather/metallic/wood platforms: Aldo, $100
