PostHeaderIcon Clutch Tip: Headbands as Belts

In my last post, I showed pics of a dress I bought from the Gap last week that would have been nothing short of dowdy if worn all by itself (on me anyway).

The deep hue and black tie back detail were too tempting to pass up, so I decided to get crafty by using two black stretchy headbands to sinch the waist and lift the hem.

Voilà, new dress!

The headbands are from American Apparel. I recommend going with the lamé because the others aren’t as kind when it comes to elasticity. I can’t wait to try this out on other bits of my wardrobe I’ve been considering retiring.

Great idea! If you like elasticized soft headbands with adjustable straps, take a look at a great website I found, http://www.andreasbeau.com, which has an awesome collection of headbands and more. Not only are these styles exceptionally beautiful, but they are also comfortable.
From one headband nut to another, this is the best site, I’ve seen yet.

That’s so funny! I was just on that site yesterday and was thinking about mentioning it in a post for tomorrow (about fun hair accessories). Thanks for the reco!
