Persistance Pays!
At last! My beloved Topshop Riviera skirt has arrived!
I first posted about my deep desire for this skirt last March. After countless hours of Topshop stalking and unsuccessful eBay bids, I finally got one!

Look a little familiar? Here are some pics from the Miu Miu SS08 collection that sparked my obsession with short full skirts and influenced the design of the Topshop skirt above.

Clutch Tip: Headbands as Belts
In my last post, I showed pics of a dress I bought from the Gap last week that would have been nothing short of dowdy if worn all by itself (on me anyway).

The deep hue and black tie back detail were too tempting to pass up, so I decided to get crafty by using two black stretchy headbands to sinch the waist and lift the hem.

Voilà, new dress!

The headbands are from American Apparel. I recommend going with the lamé because the others aren’t as kind when it comes to elasticity. I can’t wait to try this out on other bits of my wardrobe I’ve been considering retiring.
Weekend Fun: Looks of Fire & Ice
There’s one thing all my Seattle girls have in common upon the first sign of summer sun…we lay out and fry ourselves to near heat exhaustion. Why? I suppose a tan is a must have accessory to compliment our favorite dresses we so seldom get to wear…not to mention we’re upon bikini season.
Last Saturday, I was able to enjoy a tease of California-esque sun in Seattle and help my fabulous coworker, Rickey, celebrate his 25th bday that evening.

Knowing Rickey expected we dress to impress, my girlfriend Jess and I rocked freshly cooked tans (mine was more of a burn) and vibrant new dresses.

On me:
I perused around the Gap last week with little expectations and found myself intrigued with this royal blue cotton dress. The only problem was that it made me feel a little frumpy, but I hoped a belt would provide a quick fix. Running short on time and no luck finding the right belt, I was paying for a few things at American Apparel when I found the perfect solution right there at the checkout counter…stretchy head bands!
- Dress: Gap
- Latex headbands: AA
- Gladiators: Nine West

On Jess:
Jess was on a mission to find a super hot dress for summer…actually, she’s always on a mission for a super hot dress. Anyway, she’s wearing Ella Moss Black Label and I LOVE it, especially how she wore the purple bra which kind of peaks out in the back!
P.S. Happy B-day tomorrow Rickey!!
LL’s Leggings Line
Pics have been circulating of Lindsay Lohan’s upcoming leggings line and expectedly, I’m not impressed.

The zipper leggings she’s wearing look like a total knock-off of LnA’s new zipper legging (mine are in the mail, so I’ll post on them soon), and I’m a little repulsed by the Roller Barbie-esque knee pads on the left.
At least she’s keeping busy and staying out of rehab, or jail for that matter.
On another note…seems like people are starting to rebel against leggings. After moving from trendy to a wardrobe staple, it’s only a matter of time before this era of their main stream life cycle dissolves.

Best Workout Pants ever: So Low
Whether working out at the gym, going for a jog or lounging on the couch, I absolutely live by So Low’s jersey foldover pant! Trying them on for the first time felt like Goldilocks tasting the perfect porridge…not too thick, not too thin, soft, cozy, flattering…just right!

I’ve been wearing them for almost four years and have yet to find a worthy contender. Though Victoria’s Secret offers a similar style, they aren’t near as comfy or flattering, so the higher price for the So Lows is definitely worth it.
