Wardrobe Reinvention: Day to DIY Halloween
I stopped by H&M this weekend and picked up a super comfortable men’s flannel shirt. In an effort to glam it up and avoid looking too butch, I wore it with my favorite dark skinny jeans, a slinky white tee (half tucked in), and mary jane pumps.

Wearing:
- Flannel shirt: H&M Men
- Tee: AA (a new find, the Sexuali Tee)
- Jeans: Forever 21 (shocked by how much I LOVE these jeans)
- Pumps: Steven
After getting dressed, a fun DIY Halloween costume idea came to mind…Paul Bunyan! Given the state of the economy and how we’re all looking for ways to save money, why not get crafty with our Halloween attire? Here are a couple different Paul Bunyan inspired outfit combos I put together based on what I had in my closet. The only things missing are a plastic axe, suspenders and Babe the big blue ox (my dog Bella is playing the part below).
The first look would be a great for work (something my coworkers might see next Friday) or for anyone looking to stay covered up and warm.

Wearing (items not listed in first look):
- Boots: Dr. Martens
- Hat: Gap
- Dog: Bella, one of my cutie chihuahuas!
For option two, swap out the jeans for cut-off denim shorts and fishnet tights. This would be perfect for your late-night Halloween parties, though it’s still pretty modest compared to a lot of costumes.

Wearing (items not listed in first look):
- Socks: Target
- Fishnets: Nordstrom
- Shorts: Siwy
- Belt: Fossil
What are you dressing up as for Halloween this year?
Clutch Look: Just Like the Weather
I had a few meetings at work yesterday and decided to dress a little more on the professional side…with a preppy twist, of course. Inadvertantly, my outfit ended up matching the black and grey Seattle rain clouds. On the bright side, it also matched the Balenciaga Giant City bag I just got in the mail from Avelle (aka Bag Borrow or Steal).

Wearing:
- Shirt: AA
- Vest: Kill City
- Sequin bow/belt: Bebe (came with a bustier top)
- Pants: Gap
- Shoes: Me Too
- Bag: Balenciaga (via Avelle)
What’s Your Take on Lace?
Exciting news! One of my looks made it into another Glamour.com post written by the lovely Tracey Lomrantz on “Amazing Lace.” It’s not the best pic as it was taken in doors on a rainy day, but I’m flattered to have been included.

“Clutch22.com‘s Jordana balances out feminine lace with an edgy studded belt and baggy black pants.”
As a big fan of lace, I was surprised to see the number of Glamour.com readers who aren’t too keen on the trend (or at least the outfits in the post). What do you guys think? Click here to vote for your favorite look and feel free to chime in with your thoughts (especially if you like lace as much as I do).
Since we’re on the topic of lace and fashion bloggers, here are two of my favorite lace looks from Rumi and Cordelia.

Calling All West Coasties: Fashion Decision ’08
I’m both delighted and flattered to represent the West Coast for Bluefly’s Fashion Decision ’08 campaign. Everyone should cast their vote, but I need support from my fellow West Coast readers to back my weekly picks leading up to the election.
For this week, we are tasked to choose which potential first lady wore the other party’s color best? While they are both lovely, I gotta go with Michelle Obama on this one. She’s not afraid to rock the deep V and her confidence in this look is a breath of fresh air (wait to show off the derriere)!
Cast your vote for Michelle on behalf of the West Coast! Muah!
