DIY Studded Oxfords
A few weeks ago, I came across these Kurt Geiger studded oxfords and found immediate inspiration for a DIY project.

For the shoes, I found a similar pair of platforms from Forever 21 for about $30. Here’s the best part – I was planning to order studs online, but came across a damaged dress with studded trim at Arden B for almost nothing (they were having a really good sale on top of the damage discount). I cut strips of studs from the dress and hot-glued them onto the shoes.

In total, it took about 15 minutes. Gotta love quick/easy DIY projects! Here’s a side by side comparison of the inspiration and the final product.

Not feeling crafty? The Kurt Geiger shoes just went on sale for $140 at Asos (from $180).
I wore them out for the first time over the weekend for Jordan’s (my boyfriend) 26th birthday. My only complaint is they are a tad high to be walking around in the city, especially after a glass of wine (rolled my ankle a few times…ouch).

Wearing:
- Dress: Arden B
- Pants: Black Rats by Sass & Bide
- Bracelets: H&M and Forever 21
- Shoes: DIY/Forever 21

Dude sweet DIY! Total inspiration. I would totally do that if I had shoes like that and studs. Forever 21 never has shoes in my size I would have totally bought those if they did!
I never got to see the space needle, did you?
DUDE, you are so resourceful! Seriously, I am too lazy and uncreative to even come up with this stuff…
I always enjoy your takes on high fashion – it’s so inspiring. I’m keeping a file now on what-to-makes. thanks for the push!
Alix – Thanks so much! It’s my first time buying shoes from f21, but I’m fairly pleased. Try the Northgate one if you haven’t yet, they had a ton in my size last time I went (I wear a 7). I can see the Space Needle from my building and finally got outside to see it last night…I was glued to my laptop almost the entire day…ahhh.
eye4style – Thanks, doll! You’re definitely creative, so I don’t know what you’re talking about!
MissAmyShops – You’re so sweet! I’m glad you find these types of posts helpful. Hopefully I’m not mortifying anyone by the amount of products I destroy for my DIYs.
Oh, thats awesome! What will you do with the rest of the studs?
Annie Spandex – Thanks! I don’t know what I’m planning to do with the rest, but am excited to storm up some ideas.
I love the diy version ever more than the original!
Annie Spandex & Jordy B -How bout something like this for the rest of the studs? Neckline detailing
