DIY: Belt to Bondage Anklets
It’s been a little while since my last DIY, but I’ve been storming up some ideas over the past few weeks and am excited to share the latest. This one involves transforming a Forever 21 belt into studded, borderline bondage, ankle cuffs.
Before

After

I wasn’t necessarily trying to accomplish a specific style, but I think I was subconsciously channeling Balmain. I’ve also been looking for a reason to wear my gladiator wedges again.

1. Within the belt, were twoo skinny, studded belts. They weren’t stitched in, so all I had to do was pull them out.

2. Once I had the skinny belts separated, I cut the ends off the main belt to use as the base for the cuffs.

3. To finish, all I had to do was bend the two end pieces into cuffs wrapping the skinny belts around the outside. It didn’t even require sewing or an adhesive.
In total, it cost my about $12 and 20 minutes of my time. I love quick, easy and cheap DIY’s!

Frankie-Swell Vintage – Not sure I saw it? You mean her studded boots? I suppose she was prob. also inspired by some of the amazing designer shoes that have been coming out.
Oooh I love it! Totally obsessed with Balmains and was contemplating putting stretchy stud bracelets around my ankles with gladiators… this is probably a better, less circulation cutting-off idea
This is so smart! I apparently need to check out forever 21!
Annie – I bought bracelets to play with around my ankles too, but have the same circulation problem. Working on a solution and will def post once I have it.
jesspgh – Yes you do! I’ve been really impressed the last few times I’ve been. Why pay more if you can accomplish the same look for less?
