On the Calendar This Week
Wow, this week is starting to fill up with lots of exciting things. Today was CraveBusiness’ Shop Symposium, an action-packed day long workshop hosted by the lovely Melody Biringer for business owners and entrepreneurial spirits. Sadly, I was unable to attend, but heard it was a blast and definitely plan to make the next one in Seattle. If you’re in Vancouver BC, it’s taking place on Monday, March 30 and there is one in Portland, OR the following week on April 6. Click here for more info.
Here are a few other happenings on the docket for the rest of the week:
Tuesday, March 24: Seattle Social Media Club Meet-Up
When/Where: 6:30 PM – 9 PM at Sole Repair Shop in Captiol Hill
I’m not certain if I’ll make it to this, but I’d love to check it out to connect with other social media geeks in Seattle. If not this month, maybe next. Has anyone ever been to one of these?
Thursday, March 26: Speaking at the Ladies Who Launch March Meeting
When/Where: 7 PM - 9 PM at Liave Home in Belltown
I have the honor of speaking at this month’s Seattle’s Ladies Who Launch meet-up about PR and how to get noticed in the digital age. If you’re in the area and want to attend, tickets are available for $25 to non-members and can be purchased here.

Bad Reason to Go Shopping
You know how they say you shouldn’t go grocery shopping when you’re hungry? I think the same applies with walking through a mall when you have a pile of laundry waiting for you at home.
Last night I stopped by Bellevue Square with a friend after work. I survived Savvy, TBD and the entire shoe department at Nordstrom before grabbing dinner in the cafe. Feeling good about not “needing” to buy anything, I let my guard down on my way out. Suddenly, a magnetic force in the lingerie department sucked me in forcing me to spend $50 on two new Hanky Panky pieces. I blame the hypnotizing colors featured in their latest line. As if the laundry waiting at home weren’t enough incentive, how could I resist bright kiwi lime and polka dots?

Maybe it’s hard to justify spending $50 on two pairs of underwear, especially when you didn’t even spend that much on your latest handbag. However, for me it’s totally worth the investment – the comfort is unmatched by any other brand. Needing to laundry made it ever more apparent as I had to dip into my non-Hanky Panky stash.
By the way, I love grocery shopping when hungry. It’s so much more satisfying when you get home!
Loving Ann D. Just Got Easier
Many of us have been drooling over Ann Demeulemeester lace up boots for several months now. Good news! Unlike last year’s coveted Maison Martin Margiela sandal booties, a lot of afforable designers and retailers caught on early enough this time around…perfect timing for spring and summer.

Above from left:
Below are a few of my favorite Ann D alternatives. I’ve been contemplating the Jeffrey Campbell style since Fashion Pirates posted a link on Twitter last month (I’ll probably cave soon). Also, you may recognize the Aldo Maune wedges from recent posts (took them to NYFW – so comfortable), which are a current favorite of mine right now.
Above from top left:
- Jeffrey Campbell Lace-Up Peep Toe, $148 – Free People
- Sweet Life by Dolce Vita Lace Heel, $128 – Urban Outfitters
- Roulette Lace-Up Sandal, $125 - Topshop
- Maune Wedge, $140 - Aldo
- Tear Drop Ankle Sandals, $22 – Forever 21
- Anastassia Leather Lace-Up Bootie, $125.99 (on sale) – Bebe
- Dolce Vita Granite Heel, $168 – Urban Outfitters
What do you think of these styles? I’d love to know your favorite or if you’ve seen others worth sharing. By the way, do these remind anyone else of wrestler shoes?
Clutch22.com Gets a New Look
Revamping Clutch22.com has been on what seems like a never-ending list of to-dos for several months. Over the weekend, I finally dedicated some time to developing a fresh look and am excited to share it with you today.
Mainly, I wanted to make better use of the space since the previous design was a bit limiting.
If you have a second to comment, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the new design and welcome any suggestions.
Thanks for stopping by!!
