PostHeaderIcon Clutch Look: Me, Harem? Really?

I never thought I’d give into harem pants, but I found a slightly toned down pair at Forever 21 a couple of weeks ago. They’re sort of a harem-riding-pant hybrid and I bought them a little big because I’m loving the slouchy look right now.

I wore them a few days ago with my new jacket and tee from Zara, and of course, a loud pair of shoes.

Wearing:

  • Tee: Zara
  • Jacket: Zara
  • Pants: Forever 21
  • Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell

What are your thoughts on the harem pant? Would you or have you worn them?

I really want a pair, but I’m looking for the perfect ones! I think this is that sort of trend – there are so many variations that you need to find the one that works for you.

  • The harem/jodphurs you are wearing are HOT. I love love love them. Especially with the wedge you’ve got on.

I’m intrigued by the style, but can’t say I’d wear them to work (or could, for that matter). But I love the idea of sequined ones for a night out.

I gave in and bought a silk pair that are cropped and kind of toned down. I really like yours and how you styled them.

  • Jazzi M says:

    those are great! good buy!

  • JordyBee says:

Anna – Agree! You definitely have to find the right style/fit for your body.

Ashe Mischief – Wow, I was still kinda feeling iffy about them, but you made me feel a lot better! OMG, I would love to see you do black sequin harems with a simple white tee and one of your little top hats!

Jessica – I like the idea of a silk pair – adds a little bit of femme edge.

    Jazzi M – Thx!

I love that jacket, great find. The whole outfit looks great on you but for me personally I think the harem pants take away some of your height and you know I need all of the height I can get.

Cant wait to see you tomorrow!

  • joelyne says:

I’m not a fan of harem pants, actually. But they are comfy :) So I wear them at home.

  • najeema says:

I can’t imagine these looking good on me, so I’ll be skipping this trend. But I am a little intrigued by the idea of silk harem pants. Anyway, love the tshirt and jacket oh so much!

  • Eunice says:

I like that the harem pants are more toned down! wicked shoes!

  • suzie says:

you’re really rocking those harem pants! they look so good on you especially with the wedges. xo

  • Oh snap! I love those pants. And I will be heading to Forever 21 after work today to hunt them down.

  • BriCooper says:

You definitely pull them off well! I love the detailed buttons down at the ankles! two thumbs up

  • WELL DONE!!!! I have been declaring the evils of harem pants since the RTW fall 08 shows…but you’ve done it the right way here, by emphasizing the other elements of the outfit and letting the harem cut add to the overall flair instead taking it over. Kudos for your bravery and on your triumph!!! =)

  • This is a great way of wearing harem trousers! You totally pull them off. I’m not brave enough! x

  • cordelia says:

I have a pair from Zara. They look really good with very high heels, especially stilettos or a skinny heel. And they are usually very comfortable too! Your denim biker jacket is awesome and you look great as usual! x

  • jenn says:

i love the jean jacket and shoes!
i want a pair of harem pants but id have to see how it would look on me .

  • JordyBee says:

alixrose – Yes, agree about being careful with lengths – only planning to wear these with heels or else I’ll look too oompa loompa-ish. LOL

    joelyne – Thx so much!

Freya – I don’t see myself wearing them more than once or twice a month, but agree, soooo comfy!

najeema – Yeah – definitely not for everyone and I was the biggest hater until I found these. Now I’m just a “they’re okay” kinda girl. :)

    Eunice – Thx!

suzie – Thx, the wedges definitely completed the look for me.

Lauren – Good luck! If you can’t find them in the store, I linked to where you can get them online. Only $20!

BriCooper – Glad you approve, lovely!

Austyn Ellese – LOL, thanks for all the kudos! It’s a huge compliment considering how much you hated them. :)

Frankie – What are you talking about? You could so pull them off!

cordelia – Aw, thanks hun! Agree about the heels!

jenn – Yeah, I would definitely recommend trying them on first if you can. I actually found these about a month ago, but didn’t buy until the second time around.
