Nordstrom 2009 Designer Preview
Last week I had the pleasure of attending Nordstrom’s annual Designer Preview event, benefitting the Seattle Art Museum. Unlike most fashion events I’ve attended over the past two years, this focused less on media (there were only 10 seats available for press) and more on raising money for charity. The event sold out and Nordstrom raised over $170,000 for the Seattle Art Museum - wow! Despite the limited press access, this was one of the best shows I’ve ever attended. It was organized, social, classy, sparkly and Nordstrom’s PR specialist, Kendall Ault, knows how to take care of her people.
Below is a video with clips from the runway show which includes Fall/Winter 2009 styles from Gucci, Missoni, Stella McCartney, Marni, Versace, Nina Ricci, Marc Jacobs, Dries Van Noten, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta, Dolce & Gabbana and Chanel (with a lovely finale).

Celebrating in Style - 26 & the City!
I celebrated my birthday a couple of weeks ago, July 3rd, and was thrilled to have so many friends in the same place; mainly because my time with them is limited given I AM MOVING TO NEW YORK CITY in a little over a month (more deets coming soon)!
I spent over a month looking for the perfect outfit, but nothing really caught my eye, that is, until Seattle indie designer, Jesica Milton, gave me a generous offer I couldn’t refuse. She loaned me an amazing sample that fit like a glove and was exactly the type of look I was going for. Exposed zipper trim…um, perfection!

To “top” things off, the shirt I’m wearing (a gift from Sara) also has an exposed zipper. Check out the back!

Some of you may know I celebrated my birthday on July 3rd. I had a successful day of shopping and captured lots of pics from the evening (including a particularly special outfit), and will be sharing the details soon. I also have some outfit and videos in the pipeline.

In the meantime, check out the latest round-up of Independent Fashion Bloggers’ Links à la Mode, edited by Debutante Clothing.
