Nordstrom 2009 Designer Preview
Last week I had the pleasure of attending Nordstrom’s annual Designer Preview event, benefitting the Seattle Art Museum. Unlike most fashion events I’ve attended over the past two years, this focused less on media (there were only 10 seats available for press) and more on raising money for charity. The event sold out and Nordstrom raised over $170,000 for the Seattle Art Museum – wow! Despite the limited press access, this was one of the best shows I’ve ever attended. It was organized, social, classy, sparkly and Nordstrom’s PR specialist, Kendall Ault, knows how to take care of her people.
Below is a video with clips from the runway show which includes Fall/Winter 2009 styles from Gucci, Missoni, Stella McCartney, Marni, Versace, Nina Ricci, Marc Jacobs, Dries Van Noten, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta, Dolce & Gabbana and Chanel (with a lovely finale).
I wish I could have captured better video of the show, but hopefully you’re able to see some of the styles. I was particularly fascinated with the legwear…which shouldn’t shock those who have read some of my previous posts. Keep a look out for new variations of spats (taller, more polished) and panelled leggings (mixed textures) to pick up this fall!
Did I mention I was honored to even be invited to this?! I have to give a shout-out to my friend, Lindsey Larin, who writes a blog for the Bellevue Reporter called Scene and Seen. On top of that, I got to meet a few lovely local editors including Daily Candy Seattle editor, Britt Olsen, and the editor in chief of 425 Magazine, Lisa Patterson. Coincidentally, I also bumped into an old friend who now contributes to Seattle Bride and Northwest Source, Alexis Constantine (small world!).
Here are some pics from before and after the show:

I liked his outfit…

And hers too!
Since we’re talking Nordstrom and it is that time of year, did anyone get anything good at the Anniversary Sale? What do you think were the hottest items this year?

Fabulous blog, dear!
That classic Chanel is my favorite.
I attended the Designer Preview Show in Portland and

Seattle’s got style! You look amazing, and I loooove all the bling on the girl in that last photo.
You look fantastic and I’m jealous that you got to attend a show like this. Looks like a great time!
I wish I was there. It seems like you had a blast and I loved your outfit in the second photo. The rainbow necklace rocks!
