Gift Guide on the Go: Warm, Busy Hands
This year, I’m featuring gift ideas for those living on the go and will be posting several recommendations over the next two weeks. To kick things off, let’s start with something neutral that can work for co-workers, brothers, girlfriends, parents and just about everyone else in your life aside from kids and babies.

#’s 1-3: Starbucks Mobile Goodies
With the holidays comes cold weather and there’s something festive about a hot coffee to warm your hands as you carryout your day. Starbucks tends to be pretty popular for gift giving, mainly because it’s “safe” for varying audiences, but here’s a new spin on giving coffee this season. I’ve been testing out all the Starbucks VIA products for the past two months (thanks Starbucks) and am officially obsessed. Not only does it taste just as good as freshly brewed coffee, but the convenience can’t be matched. Whether it’s for someone like me who and doesn’t own or even want a coffee maker, or for someone else who appreciates having flexibilty and options; you can’t go wrong with VIA. You can give it as a stocking stuffer or attach to another gift with a ribbon. If you like themed gifts (I do), create a coffee-on-the-fly package with a mini Starbucks (RED) card and if you like to be sneaky and they have an iPhone, download the myStarbucks application and load their info. It depends on who you’re shopping for, but the extra detail with the application can help tie it all together.
- 1) Starbucks VIA: $9.95 for 12 serving pack
- 2) Starbucks Holiday mini card (mini not available online): As much as you want to give
- 3) myStarbucks Mobile Application: Free via iTunes
#4: Pocket-Sized Warmth
While coffee dubs as an excellent handwarmer, it’s not something you’re going to carry around all day, so here’s a little something else to help keep you warm. The Mini Hottie Handwarmer from Flight 001 makes an adorable stocking stuffer and is probably a little better suited for girls. It instantly heats and comes with a festive sweater cover. You can also reuse it up to twelve times by boiling in hot water. For the guys, regular handwarmers from the drugstore will do and make a great add-on to tickets to an NFL game or for a skiing/snowboarding trip.
- 4) Mini Hottie Handwarmer: $10 (via Flight 001)
#’s 5-6: Functional Gloves for Guys & Gals
If you haven’t already, next time you’re out and about, take a look at how many people around you are looking down at their phones. It’s no wonder fingerless gloves have become increasingly popular! Here are two super affordable options that also have a lot of versality. Urban Outfitters has the Solid Convertable Gloves for guys, which can be worn as mittens or fingerless gloves (also has a removable thumb). Now for one of my new winter must-haves. The 2-in-one Shaker Gloves from The Limited can be worn three different ways – as full long gloves, short gloves or as arm warmers. There are gloves that unbutton from the arm part and each piece can be worn separately, or as one.
- 5) Solid Convertable Gloves for him: $18 (via Urban Outfitters)
- 6) 2-in-1 Shaker Gloves for her: $11.70 on sale (via The Limited)

Great post. Thanks for the great ideas!
I love those fingerless gloves from The Limited! I agree that fingerless gloves have become so much more popular in the last couple of years because people want to be able to use their phone’s touch screen. Very cool gift guide!
Starbuck’s VIA is amazing….and this is coming from a Starbuck’s hater.
