For the 16th Annual Screen Actor’s Guild Awards this Saturday, Degree is doing a lot of fun red carpet activities in light of their new Red Satin deoderant launch. To start, they’ve partnered with Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks (aka Joan, the sassy red head) and we get to vote on which dress she wears at DegreeRedDress.com. After the awards show, the dress will be auctioned off where proceeds will be donated to Clothes Off Our Back. On top of that, they sent me a package full of goodies to throw my own SAG Awards viewing party with a few friends (including some of my fav fashion bloggers) in NYC. More on that in a sec.

The dresses we get to choose from are all red and range from a Classic Romantic to Grecian Goddess and finally, Stunning Strapless. Given Christina is known for her seductive curves, my pick is Grecian gown by David Meister. It’s got the sinches waist she needs to show off her figure, but also the support structure to keep the “ladies” in place. The classic look by Reem Acra is definitely gorgeous and Mad Men esque, but all the draping (no pun intended for Mad Men fans) might look unflattering on her figure. I  also LOVE the stapless Malandrino gown, but for someone…uh…how else can I say it…less busty? What do you think?

Degree is donating $50,000 to Clothes Off Our Back in addition to the auction proceeds from Christina’s dress. Also, everyone who votes will be entered to win gift certificates and red carpet SWAG.

Now back to the party they are throwing me. One of my New Year’s resolutions is to come out of my shell a little more in New York. I haven’t been as social as I’d like to be, so what a great opportunity! Degree didn’t pay me to write about this, but I think it’s a great campaign for an important cause (pulled my heart strings) and I also really appreciate their generosity. They sent me AMEX gift certificates to help pay for snacks, drinks and the space, which is also thanks to the Roger Smith Hotel (they cut us a really great deal for the penthouse!). Degree also sent me red carpet fashion themed door prizes, product samples of the new Red Satin and a gift certificate to Macy’s so I can wear a red dress too.
