SAG Awards Party…BlogGIRLS Night
Thanks to Degree, in light of their new Red Satin product, I got to throw my own SAG Awards party. When they told me they wanted to throw a party for my friends and me, they probably didn’t expect most of my guest list would be other bloggers.
Given my NYC apartment can’t accomodate more than a couple of people, I had to hunt for the right spot to host it. Luckily, I had already been in touch with the Roger Smith Hotel thanks to mutual friends. They GENEROUSLY gave me a really sweet deal on the penthouse for my entire party. It was the perfect place and one of my favorite memories in NYC so far.
So who came?

From top left: Kristin of Fashion Style Beauty, Yuli of My It Things/Style Coalition/Fashion 2.0, Sarah of StyleIT and Attention, Amy of Midtown Girl, Erin and Lani of SugarRock Catwalk, Dina of Eye4Style/Attention, Julia of Fashion Pulse and Jessica Randazza (not pictured here, but a PR smarty friend who just moved to NYC from Seattle)
Along with critiquing red carpet looks (Kate Hudson was my fav, Justin Timberlake was the most disappointing), we played games during the commercials. One was specifically about fashion faux-pas, which quickly turned into fashion blogging faux-pas. This post would never end if I went into it, but check out Yuli’s recent post.

Degree sent us a sloo of fun prizes - The Devil Wears Prada DVD, Sex & the City DVD, Breakfast at Tiffany’s DVD, The Sartorialist book and a $100 gift card to Macy’s. At the end of the night, we couldn’t decide on a worthy game for the gift card, but someone came up with the genius idea of playing “spin the deoderant.” We used one of our new Degree Red Satin’s and it landed on the lovely Jessica Randazza. I’m so glad I met this girl. Our networks are zig-zag overlapping, so I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner!

We also did a photo shoot posing on the piano, but I will respect the rule of female photo approval and hold from posting. They might end up on Facebook though.
Thanks again to Degree for hooking it up so we could all enjoy the SAG Awards in style. I don’t think I would have watched otherwise and what a wonderful excuse to be social!
By the way, in case you saw my pre-show post, the winning look for Christina Hendricks (Joan from Mad Men) was the classic romantic. I was rooting for Grecian because I thought it would have been more flattering. She still looked fiery fierce in Carolina Herrara and meanwhile, her partnership with Degree in the campaign involved a generous donation to Clothes Off Our Back.

Also, one thing to mention about the Red Satin product - good for dark clothes if you want to avoid white streaks. Makes sense why they would do a red carpet themed campaign.
