Designer Barbies: Iconic Inspirations
I attended a Barbie party last week showcasing dolls designed by 12 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) designers including Betsey Johnson, Isaac Mizrahi, Tory Burch and others. The dolls were auctioned off on eBay where proceeds went to CFDA education and scholarship funds.

The new Barbie Basics collection was also on display at the event. As a girl who, at one point in time, knew her “Barbies;” I loved how the new collection involved simple LBDs with a focus on accessorizing because it’ll give young girls the chance to customize looks for their sense of style. Also, the Basics have several different physical looks for hair colors/style, ethnicity, etc. Here’s a snapshot to give you an idea:

Below are more pics of the designer dolls. Which is your fav?

This makes me want to play with Barbies for real. I love the current trend of both known and DIY designers creating their own doll designs.
I love Barbies and fashion, so this is so much fun!
my faves are probably, Justin guinta and Rachel Roy, though I think I love them all.
I love the Betsey johnson one. These are ace, I’m going to have to look up more of them!
