Several designers have publicized plans to stream live runway footage with a front row view during their Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week shows. Though bloggers are gaining more traction in the industry, there are only a handful who get actual “front row” treatment (cough…Bryan Boy, Susie Bubble, Tavi, etc.), some of us get seat assignments to most shows and the majority get a mix of seats and standing room…or just standing room…or nothing! It depends on the designer/PR.

Needless to say, opening real-time access to the world is a pretty cool thing. Don’t get me wrong, nothing beats the feeling of sitting close up, surrounded by camera flashes; but to be honest, I’d much rather watch streams than stand in the back next to a bunch of aggressive hip and elbow blockers.
