Clutch Look: Bring On The Puddles
Want to know why I’m at home on the couch on a Friday night in NYC? It’s been snowing for the past two days and we’ve accumulated over a foot…it’s slippery slush city out there! Yeah, let’s just blame it on that. Anyway, it’s been awhile since I’ve done an outfit post, so here goes…By the way, this photo was taken before the storm came in this week.
Lucky for me, Sorel Footwear generously sent me a pair of Hoonahs and I’ve honestly worn them at least four times since receiving them 10 days ago. I have seven (seriously) other pairs of black boots, but none of them offer a weather-proof/comfort/style combo. I used to care about style first, but now that I walk to work everyday and during snowy weather have to dodge knee-deep slush puddles, the Hoonahs are my jackpot.
The rest of the out involves older pieces with the exception of the cropped top – got it recently from Topshop. Pulling off the cropped top look is tough, especially if you don’t want to show your belly button like me. I decided to wear it over a mini dress with gold accessories. To create a slimming effect (cropped tops can make you look boxy), I chose a dress that was fitted and added the belt around my waist.

I love the crop top over dress look! Crop tops alone seem a little too 90210 for me, but this really modernizes it.
That’s so awesome. They sent me a pair of their Joan of Arctic boots (they have fur on top) but these look great on you
