Spring Trends Talk With Bluefly
As we’re thinking about transitioning our winter wardrobes into spring, I decided to get some insight from Bluefly Style Guru Tanesha Smith. Let’s watch this new runway mash-up from Women’s Wear Daily and Bluefly to get us in the “mood.”
Now, here are Tanesha’s top picks and a few tips, followed by a couple of my responses.
What are your top spring accessory trends?
T: I’m so intrigued with that non-heel yet a heel look of the shoes seen at Calvin Klein and Bottega Veneta . I’m currently adoring all wedges, especially those with any beading or fringe details. I’d also love to get my hands on a buttery soft cross body bag on the small side. Natural details like straw and raffia we’re also seeing far and wide; as well as clogs.
C22: I’m totally with Tanesha on wedges. Jennine from The Coveted wore these gorgeous babies at fashion week. I’ve also noticed a lot of natural and neutral tones and am expecting to see more peaked shoulder dresses and tops.
How can you style these trends from your own wardrobe?
T: Wedges and platforms look great with simple streamlined dresses; perhaps with some draping, while the fringe and beading details look amazing with tribal prints and slouchy denim. The cross body bag is a great complement to more classic pieces like a denim chambray shirt.
C22: Most of us have metallics in our closets – try weaving them into spring prints. I love the idea of a chunky gold sandal with a tribal or floral mini dress and perhaps a fringe bag.
How can you find these trends on Bluefly?
We are loving metallics in the daytime and tie-dye prints. We are also big fans of all weather leather in the form of light weight jackets, vests, leggings, and skirts.
