Been KIN-da Busy Lately…
It’s not very often I write about my day job here, but in light of a launch I’ve been working on since July, it’s sort of a special occassion. Let me tell you about KIN. It’s a new brand of mobile devices from Microsoft Windows Phone, available via Verizon in the US next month. In short, they are meant for socially connected teens/twenty-somethings who like to broadcast their lives. I’m not going to go beyond that or provide opinions because I clearly have a bias. You can find all you need to know at KIN.com.

KIN was unveiled on Monday and during the evening, we hosted a small preview event for a few friendly faces (the big unveil event happened earlier in the day in SF). It took place at Meet at the Apartment in Soho (amazing space!!!!). The pictures below won’t do it justice, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. Here are some pics from the evening.

Also, as part of the launch, Microsoft sent a girl named Rosa on a journey through her social networks to find out who her real friends are. This involves webisodes of Rosa’s ambush visits across the US. Here’s the first episode where she surprises a goofy guy she only knew through mutual Facebook friends. You’ll get sucked in – it’s pretty funny. I’ve met Rosa a few times – awesome girl! And in case you’re wondering, this is basically a mini reality web series – real people, real friends, etc.
The next episode will take place in Memphis and it’ll be up next week. The teaser is here if you want a sneak peek. Hint: should you be friends with your ex online? I’ll point to my girl Amy on that one!

Wow looks like you all had an amazing time and amazing food! Wish I could have made it out and join in the Kin fun but I’m still glad I saw Prabal
