You might recall the behind the scenes post I wrote last week about my American Living for JC Penney shoot. Well, here it is! The video plays on the American Living “Made for….” campaign and highlights my favorite moment of every week – catching up with my girlfriends over brunch. In this case, I invited Amy from Midtown Girl and Julia DiNardo from Fashion Pulse. Yuli of My It Things/Style Coalition (producer of this project) and Jennine from The Coveted (she was the fab photog) joined us after we were done shooting.

The second muse in my “sketched” series is the lovely Yuli Ziv of My It Things, Style Coalition, Fashion 2.0 and a well-known social media maven in NYC, among other things.Those who saw my Gala Darling inspired sketch a couple months ago will know I’m slowly getting back into art. So far, I’ve only been using water color pencils on sketch paper (as opposed to stretched water color paper plastered to a wooden board, which is how you’re supposed to do it to avoid shriveled paper).

Last night I attended The Limited’s 2010 Holiday Preview event in Soho. Themed Life is Sweet, they showed off the new looks coming to stores this fall complete with a Dylan’s Candy station that made the whole experience delicious and delightful. One dress in particular caught my eye, not because it was my personal favorite, but because of the way it moved in the wind as people walked past. Instead of a photo, I captured a few seconds on video (above).

A little birdie gave me a heads up that Madison Avenue Couture is debuting on Rue La La this week, which will include several Chanel pieces. GASP! It opens on Rue La La this Thursday, July 22, at 11am EST. I’m trying to get an idea of what prices will start at. Stay tuned…

I posted last week about celebrating my birthday, which was July 3, in Seattle. Last Saturday I celebrated with my NYC friends at a cool, divey lounge in the East Village. Despite the disgusting humid heat that had me melting in the subway while en route to meet the fabulous Yuli Ziv for pre-bday dinner, I was pretty excited about my outfit. You know when you find a look, not necessarily planned or intentional, that makes you feel so…you?
