Trip Report: Birthday in Seattle

Apologies for the lack of posts. I just returned from a work/play visit in Seattle, my other “home.” I celebrated my 27th birthday while I was visiting and got to spend time with some of my favorite people in the world. Here are some highlights and photos from the trip. FYI – this post is a little more personal and not related to fashion at all…
What would a Seattle trip be without a reunion with a trio of trouble? I’ve blogged about Linds and Jess before, but they are pretty much VIP in my life (as are other Seattle friends in this post).

Given the 4th of July usually takes a lot of people out of town, I decided to join forces with a new friend for the bday shindig. We called it “2x the Fun,” and it definitely was. Her birthday was the 4th, mine was the 3rd.

Special B-day Thanks…
I didn’t get that many pics from my birthday as I was a little preoccupied, but want to give a shout-out to everyone who came by to help celebrate. Here are some that aren’t pictured…
- DJ Marty Mar – You’re the best! Thanks for saving a special spot for our group and for the generous bottles of bubbly!
- Melody, Hazel, Shauna, Carrie, Lori – you girls rock! More fun next time I’m in town, I hope!
- Jaso Queso – Miss you buddy!!
- Raleigh & Paige – um, birthday cake shots and doggie cards? That was definitely a highlight for all!
- Digga – what can I say, of all the people I know, you’d be the one to get out your own grill for BBQing when the other failed us. Thanks for everything.
- Trav – you and Jess saved my life with the Belltown pizza stop on the way home. Wow! Rockband was fun too, but apologies if I hurt your ears while attempting to sing!
- Ang, Bri and Steve – I’m pretty sure I jumped on you at Cellars – thanks for letting me be “that girl!”
- Matt & Katie – Thanks for coming! Next time you better bring your pup!
- Nadine – Thanks for letting me hitch hike with you all week and for the dinner date with Penny at Black Bottle! You’re too sweet!
- Wagged Peeps – Thank you for the countless birthday wishes and for reminding me why I love my job!
I wouldn’t be living in NYC had it not been for Shelby. She is the one who introduced me to the world of PR and we’ve been working together for over three years, friends for over seven years.

Speaking of work…I helped put on a ”learning” happy hour session at the Seattle office while I was in town. In addition to sharing some of the new trends in lifestyle media, it involved PBR and craptastic margaritas. Fun times had by all, I hope!

Here’s a pic from my first night back in town…we sipped on fancy drinks and then met up with Christine to wish her a happy bday. Wore my new United Nude wedges…totally obsessed. I bought the last pair in my size and gave Linds a pair in light teal and white too! Shout-out to Audrea for introducing me…saw them on her a few months ago and couldn’t get them outta my head.

Another lovefest happened when I reunited with my IRL digital bff’s…

Above: With Sara, can’t ever get enough of her!

Something kitchy in the kitchen – my Australian friend Daniel (is dating one of my bff’s, Linds) has a koozie obsession. I spent a lot of time at his condo, and sipping from coozies
Also on this trip – I got my hair professionally colored for the first time since September by my favorite Seattle stylist, Erin, at the Bellevue Seven Salon. I miss being blonde sometimes, so this is sort of a compromise…
Sassy Fit, an amazing power-girl fitness club in Seattle, threw an event for their anniverary. Congrats Kelly and Bri!

Finally, saw this after landing at JFK Tuesday night. Smart thinking Sephora! I know I would totally shop from this machine if I were delayed, bored or forgot to pack a beauty essential!

I have pics for you from sassyfit too… I just haven’t had a chance to edit.
Cute pics! Glad you had a fun trip
Miss you already and cannot wait for you to come back! You are a peach! XOXO
Oh man…I wish you lived here again so I could see more of you! I really can’t get enough of you either! Thanks for being here for your birthday and allowing us to celebrate with you. 27 is going to kick ass!!! Btw, the anti-spam word above says “move”. #irony
SOOOO happy to have seen you and gotten to spend so much time with you – dinner, driving, work – all amazing!
XOXO
I love the pic of you with the yellow shoes (with Linds) – great outfit. And BTW, I LOVE your hair dark. Obvs I haven’t seen you with either in real life but I really like how the dark looks on your compared with the blond.
Those United nude wedges are awesome and your hair is great for summer! It looks like you had a fabulous time with friends.
I miss eating at Salumi in Seattle (seriously still remember those sandwiches!) Yum!
I hope you had a great bday – 27 way my favorite age so I decided to stay that way until I can no longer pass! So probably when I turn 37
you guys are so happy with together
Glad to see your birthday was a blast. Hope to see you during your Seattle take 2.
