PostHeaderIcon Suno SS11 – Safari Garden Nymphs

I’ve been popping in and out of Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week madness and  have been hearing lots of good things about Suno. Dani Stahl of Nylon Mag first brought the designer (by Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty) to my attention a few days ago when I interviewed via Twitter in the American Express Skybox inside the tents. The New York Times also named the Suno one of six rising stars in the fashion world last week.

In addition to playful, perfectly clashing prints and textures that could have easily appealed to the Snooki’s of the world if styled by anyone else, I am BEYOND OBSESSED with the Suno for Loeffler Randall shoe collection. Ballerina printed platforms that just might be my 2010 Miu Miu (remember these?) quest for next year. Bergdorf’s you listening? Call me! ;) Vyque from Fasshonaburu is also obsessed. PostHeaderIcon VIDEO: Vivienne Tam Spring/Summer 2011 Collection

Here’s a glimpse at Vivienne Tam’s latest collection as shown at Lincoln Center yesterday at Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week. I was lucky enough to sit second row at her show yesterday and having followed her closely the past few years, this was the most surprised I’ve ever been. I got a hippie folk vibe and loved a lot of the playful pieces. Almost all the models wore flat sandals made of what appeared to be braided hemp. I definitely hope she sells them and think a lot of my west coast friends will love them too.

You can view all the looks on Elle.com here. What do you think?

PostHeaderIcon IFB CON: Tune in Live Tomorrow!

Independent Fashion Bloggers, in partnership with American Express, is hosting the third rev of Evolving Influence tomorrow to kick off Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011.If you recall, the first started in a jam packed restaurant bar one year ago, the second was where the conference took form and this season is sure to top them all! I’m not as involved in the production this time around, but will be live blogging for IFB during the third panel and of course, socializing throughout the day.

Here are the details for the day including how you can tune in even if you aren’t attending in person! Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Rebecca Minkoff Showroom Visit – Shoes, Bags & Silly Bands!

Last week I had the privilege of stopping by Rebecca Minkoff’s showroom for tea, treats and a sneak preview of her new collection of shoes. Wow! If you, like me, are a fan of her handbags, wait until you see the shoes in person! A lot of designers try to make the move to footwear, among other categories, but they often lose themselves in the process. Not the case here! Perfect to transition you into fall, the collection features neutral tones in beautiful leather and suede fabrics with heels/wedges that offer a goldilocks “just right” balance of style of comfort.

I was also treated to my very own Morning After Clutch…um, generous?! I chose Electric Blue, which I literally almost purchased two days before this event. Must be fate! :) It’s my first small handbag in a long time and I’ve been enjoying the freedom from the typical heavy-weight, Mary Poppins bag I usually carry. She also gave guests RM sillybands (as shown above) – super clever!

Check out favorites among Rebecca’s shoes collection and more photos after the jump! Read the rest of this entry »
