Foregoing Fashion Week

Have you ever been guilty of staying in an unhealthy relationship or friendship past its expiration OR forced yourself to go out of your way for someone because you felt obligated? What about held onto a piece of clothing that you’re almost certain will never fit you again on the 1.25% chance you might wear it someday? I’m guilty of all of the above.
I’m not really into New Year’s resolutions, but as a new year begins, it’s natural to think about what you want to change or improve. For me, it always comes down to the same thing – the ”whatever I feel like” motto. Easier said than done, right? Figuring out what you “feel like” can be a challenge in itself, but when it comes to blogging, it’s hard to not want to do everything…which often leads to an overload…and then a backlog of things that never see the light of day. Living in NYC just adds to said overload. The best thing you can do is prioritize.
Sooo…I made the tough decision to forego New York Fashion Week this time around. Sure, I might pop into a few social things, but this is the first time in two years I won’t be covering the latest amazingness from America’s top designers inside the tents. I also don’t feel like it’s ever been my place…I’m not an expert of any sort and the most I could offer anyone would be a single opinion.
Maybe I’m jaded because of my career. However, it feels like a huge weight has been lifted and I’ll take it. Looking ahead, hopefully you’ll see more frequent posts from me including new, original topics. I’m not quite sure what direction I want to go, but style will certainly remain to be involved.
Hope everyone is having a great start to 2011. Leave a comment if there are certain types of things you’d like to see more of from me.

Don’t feel bad, I made the same choice after going once. I didnt feel like I needed to go for my blog. It was cool to go but I didn’t see the value in it or the need for the stress!
@clutch_22 Onward and upward.

@royalchanenbaum Aw, thanks so much! That’s uplifting considering I’ve been a little uninspired lately.

Proud of you.
Hey sweets,
I will be in NYC for fashion week, but I put no pressure on myself to go to the shows. I will be at the IFB event and then I want to see NYC. I hope to see you too. I will FB message. <3
I’m skipping it in Sept since my wedding will be right around then, I cannot wait to not go, bahaha. But I’ll see you at Evolving Influence, yes?!?!?!
