If you’re planning to tackle Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday, here are some general tips and tricks to help you know when to pull the trigger and when to wait. Contrary to what marketers are telling you, most of the “deals” are merely exaggerations to lure you and your wallet. Take it from a “marketer” who plays on both sides of the fence…yours truly!

An NYC Sunday Stroll in Photos
I take photos of everything…sometimes even hundreds per week. I probably only share about 5% here, if that, which seems like a waste if this is supposed to be a creative outlet of self expression, right? Okay, not all of my photos are necessarily blog-worthy…as much as you might love seeing photos of my chihuahuas, I’m guessing that’s not why you visit my site. So…here’s something new; a peek inside my growing appreciation for New York City through the miscellaneous photos I capture on my phone.
FYI – some photos have been “apped” for fun viewing effect. They consist of a walk down the west side to Chelsea Market, the West Village and Highline Park. View the full set after the jump!

Clutch Geekery: T-Mobile HTC HD7 from Windows Phone 7!
My geeky background in gagdet obsessions often leads to exciting opportunities to work with technology brands. I also USED to work in consumer tech PR, which has helped feed said obsessions. As I’ve noted time and time again, I’m not an expert, just an enthusiast. With that…today has been awesome! I just dropped by a little meetup for the official launch of Windows Phone 7 availablility and they sent me home with a T-Mobile HTC HD7 to test out including a Zune Pass, a month of mobile service from T-Mobile and a gift card to purchase Windows Phone 7 apps! Here’s a first look…isn’t it pretty!? It even comes with a little kick stand!
More to come in an experiential review…Tonight, courtesy of Windows Phone 7, I’m going to check out a concert by Katy Perry in NYC. They are also doing one in San Francisco with Maroon 5. They have a bunch of cool things going on for the campaign and are also working with Minka Kelly and Rob Dyrdek on a “Really Rally Road Trip.” Check out the videos after the jump! Chilling with Windows Phone 7′s Brian Seitz @ Microsoft Open House
A couple of weeks ago, Microsoft showed off their latest goodies for the holiday season at their annual Open House event. Complete with lavendar infused cocktails, mac and cheese amazingness and an Xbox KINECT interactive play area, front and center was the official launch of Windows Phone 7. They had a special video station on site and I took advantage of the opportunity to steal a few moments with my buddy Brian Seitz from Microsoft (and Cold Pavement). If you’ve been following my posts, you might recall I used to do PR for the Windows Phone account at my last firm, hence one of the enablers of fashion + tech becoming a sweet spot for me. I knew Windows Phone 7 was going to be impressive, but this was my first time seeing the final product and wow!
The photo features are probably my fav – it cuts out steps to make sharing and posting easier. One of the tiny things that got me was the “running late” button enabled through the Microsoft Office Mobile calendar. If you run late a lot like me, you can Read the rest of this entry »
Bloggie Video Message from Kenneth Cole
On Friday, I received a Sony Bloggie with a post-it note attached that read “Play me! – KC.” I turned it on to find the following from Kenneth Cole inviting my social network to join his at a private dinner he is hosting tonight in his showroom!

Stay tuned for more…you can follow attendees live on Twitter during the dinner tonight via #KCSpring2011 and tweet with @KennethCole too.
P.S. I love when designers get geeky with technology.
