Banging Hair: NYC’s Davide Torchio Salon
In light of the Oscars last Sunday, I had the privilege of stopping by Davide Torchio’s fabulous salon on the Upper Eastside for an overdue and new do. I haven’t had my hair cut in over six months and I’ve been growing it out since October 2006 with 2-3 trims per year - no joke! If my hair had a heart, Davide would have stolen it. I didn’t intend on doing anything different, but he guided me to try out bangs and…voilà!

It took a little convincing since I haven’t had full on bangs since I was in 7th grade. When all was said and done, he definitely didn’t take me back to my junior high bangs and braces days. How’d he get me to take the plunge? He Read the rest of this entry »
Designer Barbies: Iconic Inspirations
I attended a Barbie party last week showcasing dolls designed by 12 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) designers including Betsey Johnson, Isaac Mizrahi, Tory Burch and others. The dolls were auctioned off on eBay where proceeds went to CFDA education and scholarship funds.

The new Barbie Basics collection was also on display at the event. As a girl who, at one point in time Read the rest of this entry »
Black Sheep & Prodigal Sons Mammoth Cuff
After a long week, I decided to spend my Friday evening window shopping online and I’ve managed to entertain myself for at least three hours. I love the limitless possibilities that come with browsing different shops all over the world and occassionally I come across things like this mammoth claw cuff by Black Sheep & Prodigal Sons…things that make me lift a brow and scrunch my nose. I thought I’d try something new and share this confused moment with you to see what you think upon first seeing it.

So…what do you think? Is it cool, nasty, artistic, creepy or something else? Would you wear it? What if I told you it was made from fossils Read the rest of this entry »
Bluefly’s Project Runway Goddess
Anyone excited for Project Runway to return tonight? I am so I wanted to do something special in light of the premiere. Bluefly Merchandising Manager and Project Runway liaison Mindy Dorf (also known as “Double 0 Dorf”…guessing she’s teeny?), heads up the ever famous Bluefly wall of accessories on the show (what a fab partnership). She was sweet enough to answer a couple of questions from yours truly.

C22: What are your favorite dual purpose accessories, i.e. a belt that can also be worn as a bracelet or a necklace that can also be repositioned as a belt? Read the rest of this entry »
Happy Holidays and 2010!
Happy New Year everyone! I took an unexpected hiatus during the holidays when arriving in Seattle after realizing how much I’ve missed my fam and friends. I guess I felt like I needed to be extra social to make up for lost time while in NYC. The good news is I have a couple of sweet giveaways for you this week in light of the new year. Stay tuned, but in the meantime, here are a few holiday pics; mostly from my time in Seattle.
