PostHeaderIcon SJP: Mogul Maven, Master of the NY Minute

Who’s excited for Sex & the City 2??? I’m going to a premiere party for HP next Tuesday and am SO excited! HP has  just announced Sarah Jessica Parker as the new face of their “Computer is Personal Again” ad campaign! Good timing since a lot of HP’s fashionable products are in the movie. Above is the first video for the campaign.

By the way, what the heck should I wear to the SATC 2 party? I want to be Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Kisses From Lulu Guinness!

Iconic British designer, Lulu Guinness has officially launched the US website, which includes e-commerce! In light of last week’s launch, I had the pleasure of meeting Lulu in person – what a delight!

The above collection of Lips clutches was on display at her launch event in Soho. I LOVE them and am seriously thinking about buying one. Very Carrie Bradshaw meets Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Sex & the City 2: Sneak Peek of Geek Chic

Calling all SATC fans! I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty stoked for the sequel next month! A little birdie gave me a heads up about some goodies we can expect to see in the movie. It looks like HP has been cast as the newest character! In the movie, we’ll see a ton of fashionable gear including the HP Mini 210 Vivienne Tam Butterfly Lovers clutch, HP TouchSmart PCs  and the HP TouchSmart tm2. Check out the trailer and images below!

Could this mean we might be seeing less of a certain fruit in the movie? The first Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Sketched: Purple Gaze

I’ve always had a deep passion for painting and illustrating (basically, anything art), but it’s been years since the last time I got out my sketchbook. A couple of weeks ago, I bought a set of water-color pencils and have been experimenting. I’m hoping I can make this fit into my life again. Still super rusty, but excited to do more.

Any suggestions for inspiration? I usually have some sort of inspiration, but this was a spontaneous, practice-sort-of piece.

PostHeaderIcon Old Spice Adventure “It” Girls

Though I’m definitely not the target for Old Spice, I’ve been really impressed with the way the brand is reinventing itself. A good friend of mine at Paine PR, Jackson Jeyanayagam, has been working on a pretty cool integrated marketing campaign and given there’s a cool “it-girls” tie-in, I couldn’t resist sharing.

Old Spice teamed up with Olympian Snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler and Pro Surfer Anastasia Ashley to launch their new Fresh Collection deoderants, inspired by adventurous places around the world. The campaign involves sending an intern on scent-ventures to the snowy peaks of Matterhorn and the sunny beaches in Fiji (take me, take me!). The above video is the behind the scenes photo-shoot for the campaign. Here’s a video kicking off the search for the Old Spice Adventure intern showing a “candidate” who looks Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon HP’s Project Runway Experience

Last week, I had the delight of attending one of my favorite events so far. In light of HP’s partnership with Project Runway and the most recent episode where designers created their own textiles using tm2t Touchsmart PC’s, HP hosted an intimate brunch meet-up at Cellar Bar in the Bryant Park Hotel reenacting themes from the episode.

PostHeaderIcon Banging Hair: NYC’s Davide Torchio Salon

In light of the Oscars last Sunday, I had the privilege of stopping by Davide Torchio’s fabulous salon on the Upper Eastside for an overdue and new do. I haven’t had my hair cut in over six months and I’ve been growing it out since October 2006 with 2-3 trims per year – no joke! If my hair had a heart, Davide would have stolen it. I didn’t intend on doing anything different, but he guided me to try out bangs and…voilà!

It took a little convincing since I haven’t had full on bangs since I was in 7th grade. When all was said and done, he definitely didn’t take me back to my junior high bangs and braces days. How’d he get me to take the plunge? He Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Designer Barbies: Iconic Inspirations

I attended a Barbie party last week showcasing dolls designed by 12 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) designers including Betsey Johnson, Isaac Mizrahi, Tory Burch and others. The dolls were auctioned off on eBay where proceeds went to CFDA education and scholarship funds.

PostHeaderIcon Black Sheep & Prodigal Sons Mammoth Cuff

After a long week, I decided to spend my Friday evening window shopping online and I’ve managed to entertain myself for at least three hours. I love the limitless possibilities that come with browsing different shops all over the world and occassionally I come across things like this mammoth claw cuff by Black Sheep & Prodigal Sons…things that make me lift a brow and scrunch my nose. I thought I’d try something new and share this confused moment with you to see what you think upon first seeing it.

So…what do you think? Is it cool, nasty, artistic, creepy or something else? Would you wear it? What if I told you it was made from fossils Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Bluefly’s Project Runway Goddess

Anyone excited for Project Runway to return tonight? I am so I wanted to do something special in light of the premiere. Bluefly Merchandising Manager and Project Runway liaison Mindy Dorf (also known as “Double 0 Dorf”…guessing she’s teeny?), heads up the ever famous Bluefly wall of accessories on the show (what a fab partnership). She was sweet enough to answer a couple of questions from yours truly.
