As some of you know, I had the treat of walking in a runway show in June for Kaboodle’s five year anniversary celebration, hosted at Internet Week in NYC. This involved working closely with Kaboodle and Bloomingdale’s to create a look inspired by one of the winning style boards in a contest Kaboodle hosted the weeks leading up to the event. Lucky for me, I got to work with one of my favorite style boards (above on the left) designed by Kaboodle user Sarah08Pig (nice work, girl!).

Little black dress, sparkles, lace, pearls…yes please! To make this ultra glam party look work with my own personal style, which is usually a hybrid of two distinct types of looks (e.g. boho-preppy), I decided to go rock and roll with hair and make-up. Faux hawk, dark and dramatic eyes and a pale lip. You can find out all the details about my outfit from Kaboodle here.

Above (from top left): Meghan of Wit and Wimsy’s gorgeous braid, my make-up in progress, and with Yuli post hair and make-up

This was one of the coolest things I’ve ever gotten to do as a blogger and I will be forever grateful to Kaboodle for giving me the opportunity. Special thanks to Bloomingdale’s for providing the fabulous looks, the Kaboodle style team (especially Maria) for helping us create the looks and Paul Labrecque Salon & Spa for providing hair and make-up. Also, shout-out to Lauren for giving me the rocker faux hawk!

Last but not least, thanks to KSA, Jenn, Jordan, Maeve, Julie, Lizzie, Andrea, Amy, Dina, Kat, Kristin and everyone else who cheered me on when I stepped foot on the runway. You knocked the fear right out of me.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month starts tomorrow, October 1. I’ve seen a lot of cool charitable things from brands, but am especially appreciative of Ralph Lauren for giving me a chance to become part of its efforts. As part of Polo Ralph Lauren’s global initiative to support breast cancer awareness, the company has teamed up with 100 bloggers to style and sport looks rocking the Pink Pony. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Pink Pony Fund, which has raised over $40 million to fight cancer in 13 different countries. Having seen loved ones affected by the illness, this cause is very special to me and I was beyond thrilled to participate. I kept my look pretty preppy as you can see, with a grey Jesica Milton circle skirt, black pumps with scrunchy socks and my favorite cashmere pashmina.

A lot of my favorite bloggers also got involved. AOL StyleList is featuring all 100 in a special photo gallery here. Check them out! I would love to know your favorite looks!

In addition to 100 bloggers wearing the Pink Pony, Ralph Lauren is also doing a few other things to contribute to the cause. Tomorrow it will launch its first Pink Pony Online Auction through CharityBuzz. Showcasing over 200 unique items and once-in-a-lifetime experiences, 100% of net proceeds from this auction will benefit the Pink Pony Fund of The Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation. The online auction begins Friday, October 1st and runs through October 21st at www.charitybuzz.com/RalphLauren. Auction highlights include:

A Front Row Seat at the Ralph Lauren Fall 2011 Fashion Show and Meet the Designer Backstage

Meet Jerry Seinfeld backstage at a show

A Personal Tour of Ralph Lauren’s World-Famous Car Collection

Two Tickets to Miami Heat Game and Meet Lebron James

Taylor Swift Autographed Guitar

Go Behind the Scenes of Bravo’s Top Chef

Meet Lance Armstrong

Play Polo with Polo Model Nacho Figueras

Two Tickets to the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games

Another way to get involved is by texting PINKPONY to 501501 to instantly donate $10. You can buy your own Pink Pony Polo or choose from a number of other Pink Pony product here to sport with pride all month. I’m so sentimental…xoxo

Avon has dominated the beauty category on a global level whether salon products like the Advanced Techniques lotus shield (best frizz control product) or the increasingly popular among my generation, mark makeup line. Awhile back I was invited to an Avon summer preview, so naturally, without looking too much into the invite, I assumed it’d be new beauty products. Upon arriving to the Avon showroom, I was welcomed by a pleasant surprise – a room full of summer dresses, jewelry, accessories and shoes!

Now, if your only experience with Avon is through your mom or grandma, you might expect the clothes to target an older demographic….not in this case! They sent guests home with an adorable boho maxi dress, gold cuffs, earrings and a summer tote. Check out the dress and some of the jewelry:

As shown in the top picture of this post, I receive the pair of AMAZING, vibrant jewel tone earrings at the Fashion 2.0 anniversary party earlier this summer. Unfortunately for me, I can’t wear most earrings, but I decided to surprise one of my BFF’s, Maggie from San Diego, with the loot when we reunited in Seattle a couple of weeks ago.

Avon also have shoes and I’m eyeing these over-the-knee suede boots. They are only $44.99 and comfort is one of the key features. You can check out all of Avon’s fashion offerings (including some cute jewelry for fall) here.

Tuesday night I had the pleasure of stopping by Fenton Fallon in NYC, an amazing little boutique tucked away on the Lower Eastside in Freeman’s Alley. Hosted by owner and creator of Fenton Fallon, Dana Lorenz, guests walked in to find tables full of chains, pendants, spikes and sparkly strands…aka a DIY paradise.

I was super exhausted from the flight into NYC via red eye earlier in the day, but the intimate charm and beats from DJ Belle Du Jour (aka India Jewel Jackson, also with Glam.com) helped me perk up and get my creative on right away. The special cocktails from U’Luvka Vodka and Cookies.com treats also paid homage to a room full of stylish, happy girls. Check out how I did and all the photos after the jump.

The experience reminded me of this DIY project I did a few summers ago inspired by the lovely Bobbie Thomas. I’ve been craving a DIY project and this totally inspired me to start doing more on my blog. The difference with Camp Fenton Fallon? We basically started from scratch to create all different types of gorgeous necklaces. All you need are material, plyers and necklace hooks/clasps!

I went for a longer chain look that could be modified at the time of wear depending on my mood. The fringe strands are part of another necklace and can be removed or repositioned. I’m so drawn to blue, so naturally I snagged a blue chain. I also think it’s the type of necklace that can be worn casually, which is something very prominent in my accessories collection.

Here are some more photos including other lovely media/press at work with their creations:
