Been KIN-da Busy Lately…
It’s not very often I write about my day job here, but in light of a launch I’ve been working on since July, it’s sort of a special occassion. Let me tell you about KIN. It’s a new brand of mobile devices from Microsoft Windows Phone, available via Verizon in the US next month. In short, they are meant for socially connected teens/twenty-somethings who like to broadcast their lives. I’m not going to go beyond that or provide opinions because I clearly have a bias. You can find all you need to know at KIN.com.

KIN was unveiled on Monday and during the evening, we hosted a small preview event for a few friendly faces (the big unveil event happened earlier in the day in SF). It took place at Read the rest of this entry »
Old Spice Adventure “It” Girls
Though I’m definitely not the target for Old Spice, I’ve been really impressed with the way the brand is reinventing itself. A good friend of mine at Paine PR, Jackson Jeyanayagam, has been working on a pretty cool integrated marketing campaign and given there’s a cool “it-girls” tie-in, I couldn’t resist sharing.
Old Spice teamed up with Olympian Snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler and Pro Surfer Anastasia Ashley to launch their new Fresh Collection deoderants, inspired by adventurous places around the world. The campaign involves sending an intern on scent-ventures to the snowy peaks of Matterhorn and the sunny beaches in Fiji (take me, take me!). The above video is the behind the scenes photo-shoot for the campaign. Here’s a video kicking off the search for the Old Spice Adventure intern showing a “candidate” who looks Read the rest of this entry »
IFBCON: Evolving Influence Unplugged!
Congrats to Jennine and Independent Fashion Bloggers (IFB) for the success of the Evolving Influence Conference during New York Fashion Week!
(Bryanboy, Tavi & Susie Bubble talking before the panel…all three are just lovely in real life!)
I was thrilled to be a part of it and can’t wait to see how the amazing community continues to grow and evolve. Here’s the recap, written by the lovely Jennine, from IFB!
Fashion 2.0 Social Media Awards
Over the past year, fashion brands have begun to embrace and excel in social media, meanwhile other social media leaders have captured the attention of fashion bloggers. To recognize the top contenders, Yuli Ziv and the Style Coalition hosted the first annual Fashion 2.0 Social Media Awards and the ceremony was held at the beginning of New York Fashion Week. When I was asked to be a presenter for “Next Big Thing,” I was honored to be a part of the special evening.

Sponsored by ideeli and Lucky Magazine, other presenters for the Fashion 2.0 Awards included fabulous bloggers Read the rest of this entry »
IFBCon @ NYFW: Tune In Live Today!
While bloggers from all over the world have made their way to New York Fashion Week, one of the most highly anticipated events doesn’t even involve a runway. The first ever international fashion blogger conference kicks off today thanks to Independent Fashion Bloggers. I have the pleasure of moderating the first panel kicking off at 10am EST on fashion blog marketing. Even if you’re not attending, you can peek inside the conference throughout the day because we are going to live stream at: http://heartifb.com/evolving-influence-live! Additionally, we have four bloggers planning to do live updates on their blogs – one during each panel (see below for more details).

We’re also doing a few giveaways to attendees at the conference. Windows 7, who will have an ”experience station” at the venue with new computers for bloggers Read the rest of this entry »
