Camp Fenton Fallon DIY Jewelry Party
Tuesday night I had the pleasure of stopping by Fenton Fallon in NYC, an amazing little boutique tucked away on the Lower Eastside in Freeman’s Alley. Hosted by owner and creator of Fenton Fallon, Dana Lorenz, guests walked in to find tables full of chains, pendants, spikes and sparkly strands…aka a DIY paradise.
I was super exhausted from the flight into NYC via red eye earlier in the day, but the intimate charm and beats from DJ Belle Du Jour (aka India Jewel Jackson, also with Glam.com) helped me perk up and get my creative on right away. The special cocktails from U’Luvka Vodka and Cookies.com treats also paid homage to a room full of stylish, happy girls. Check out how I did and all the photos after the jump. Shameful Street Style: Manny Pack?
Saw this on the way to work yesterday morning. I don’t know…I get that it’s tough being a guy when it comes to hauling your stuff around, especially in NYC, but invest in a backback dude! Unless you’re Betty White, this is unacceptable.
We also need to discuss that sleeveless hoodie, but baby steps brah…
Behind the Scenes: American Living Shoot
Exciting news! I’ve been working with American Living, a playful designer collection at JCPenney, and the Style Coalition on a cool video campaign. A handful of other fabulous blogs, as shown in the video mash-up, are also participating including Gala Darling, The Coveted, College Fashion, Second City Style, What I Wore, Style Mom, Corporette, Style Bakery and The Budget Babe. In short, the campaign involves a series of mini-webisodes highlighting a special ”moment” from each our lives. For my moment, I chose brunch in NYC with the girls, Julia and Amy. It’s something new to my routine that I look forward to every week, which made filming super quick and easy…we even stayed for an hour after we were done filming doing the exact same thing!
I chose a piece from the American Living summer collection that reflected my moment. Given it’s so hot in NYC right now, a Read the rest of this entry »
Nine West Fall 2010 Preview & Picks
Last month, I attended a fabulous Nine West fall collection preview hosted by Nine West Creative Director Fred Allard. It was the finale to a world tour showing the new line-up where Fred was accompanied by Gossip Girl stylist, Eric Daman.
While I fell in love with several pairs of shoes, there is one in particular that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about. I will definitely be all over the below style, most likely in red, once they hit stores this fall. It’s sort of a hybrid Read the rest of this entry »
HP’s Sex & the City 2 Pre-Screening
Last night I attended HP’s pre-screening of Sex & the City 2, followed by a swanky after party at Bergdorf Goodman. Thanks to the amazing Vivienne Tam, I sported one of her colorful dresses from the Spring 2010 collection (what an honor! Thanks Amy for taking the pic of VT and me above). People kept taking my picture…which makes me wonder, either the photogs thought I was someone else, or they take pics of anyone who “might” be “someone.” Either way, it’s sort of flattering, but I’m definitely not a socialite.
One of my favorite parts about the evening? The people! I caught up with a lot of lovely bloggers/editors and some of my favorite, stylish PR girls. There were a lot of VIPs there as well. I am usually the last person to spot celebrities and even when I do, I act like they aren’t there. It’s probably because I spend my days as a publicist. Just after the screening, I was taking a photo of some friends and a woman Read the rest of this entry »
