Project Beyond the Runway (by Julia)
Reading through the links this week, I realized that fashion week or no fashion week, fashion will most certainly go on! A winter snowstorm couldn’t even slow down New York Fashion Week, and the links below are testament to the wonderful style that exists beyond the runway, such as Ode to Awe’s jewelry discovery Read the rest of this entry »
Clutch Look: Bring On The Puddles
Want to know why I’m at home on the couch on a Friday night in NYC? It’s been snowing for the past two days and we’ve accumulated over a foot…it’s slippery slush city out there! Yeah, let’s just blame it on that. Anyway, it’s been awhile since I’ve done an outfit post, so here goes…By the way, this photo was taken before the storm came in this week.

Lucky for me, Sorel Footwear generously sent me a pair of Hoonahs and I’ve honestly worn them at least four times since receiving them 10 days ago. I have seven (seriously) other pairs of black boots, but Read the rest of this entry »
Live from The Limited Pop-Up Store
Hi stylish friends! I’m blogging live from The Limited Pop Up Store in Soho for a holiday shopping party. It’s being hosted by Nicole Williams in light of her new book Girl On Top. Coincidentally, I got Windows 7 installed in my laptop today, so I’m immersing myself in that as I go (so far, it’s great).
The pop-up store opened in October and has been so successful, they decided to extend it until December 28. If you’re in NYC, check it out at 134 Spring Street.
6:50PM
I’m on a platform blogging and was dressed by a fab personal stylist named Anthony (more on him soon when I can track him down). They are having 40% off all night and I’m definitely going to take advantage. Lots of rich colors and sparkles with sleek black separates. Here’s what I’m wearing (will get better pics later) a sheer royal blue blouse over a royal blue sequin tank and black cropped skinny slacks with button detail down the calf:

Final AMSB Challenge: Tie-Dye Leggings
The fifth and final challenge for America’s Most Stylish Blogger involved a pair of tie-dye leggings by Plan B, courtesy of Bluefly. I’m a huge fan of all kinds of legwear, even dramatic as seen with the fabulous panelled leggings I snagged from I Heart Norwegian Wood over the summer. However, for this challenge, I ended up choosing a look from pieces I already owned that involved layering my DIY slashed leggings overtop of the tie-dye. For more details on the thought process, read my my post at StyleList.

Wearing:
- Tank dress: A birthday gift from the lovely Sara Seumae
- Jacket: Zara
- Leggings: DIY + Bluefly
- Platform sandals: Also
- Necklace: Studio (on 47th and Lex in NYC…new fav necklace)
This week’s guest judge on the StyleList challenge critique, hosted by Melissa Foss, was Adam Lippes! While all Read the rest of this entry »
In-Store Photo Policies: Time for a Change?
Ok. I’ve had my hand nearly slapped at least a dozen times over the past month when trying to snap a few pics inside stores on my NYC shopping adventures. Let me preface by saying I understand there are “reasons” why they have these policies in place, but as a PR nerd girl, I’m counting the number of missed opportunities they encounter as a result.

One instance in particular occurred last week at Opening Ceremony. It was my first time in the store and I caught a glimpse of some really intruiging jewelry I wanted to post about. When the staff shook their finger at me, they let me know I could pull the pics from their website. To be frank, it totally killed the inspiration. Seriously, I’m trying to promote your brand for free and your asking me to add extra steps? On top of that, Read the rest of this entry »
