Chilling with Windows Phone 7′s Brian Seitz @ Microsoft Open House
A couple of weeks ago, Microsoft showed off their latest goodies for the holiday season at their annual Open House event. Complete with lavendar infused cocktails, mac and cheese amazingness and an Xbox KINECT interactive play area, front and center was the official launch of Windows Phone 7. They had a special video station on site and I took advantage of the opportunity to steal a few moments with my buddy Brian Seitz from Microsoft (and Cold Pavement). If you’ve been following my posts, you might recall I used to do PR for the Windows Phone account at my last firm, hence one of the enablers of fashion + tech becoming a sweet spot for me. I knew Windows Phone 7 was going to be impressive, but this was my first time seeing the final product and wow!
The photo features are probably my fav – it cuts out steps to make sharing and posting easier. One of the tiny things that got me was the “running late” button enabled through the Microsoft Office Mobile calendar. If you run late a lot like me, you can Read the rest of this entry »
Bloggie Video Message from Kenneth Cole
On Friday, I received a Sony Bloggie with a post-it note attached that read “Play me! – KC.” I turned it on to find the following from Kenneth Cole inviting my social network to join his at a private dinner he is hosting tonight in his showroom!

Stay tuned for more…you can follow attendees live on Twitter during the dinner tonight via #KCSpring2011 and tweet with @KennethCole too.
P.S. I love when designers get geeky with technology.
Nars Cosmetics to Open First Flagship Boutique in NYC
The 16 year old brand many of us have grown to love, particularly Laguna bronzer (I live by it), is finally getting a home of its own. Located at 413 Bleecker Street, in New York City’s West Village, the Nars Cosmetics store will open Spring 2011 and will feature exclusive items to the location.
Hudson Jeans Holiday 2010
I stopped by an intimate preview with lead Hudson Jeans designer, Ben Taverniti, and checked out the latest pieces for the holiday season. Side note: I can’t believe we’re already in mid-October! As a somewhat new Hudson fan girl and an obsessed denim hunter, I was excited to talk specifics with Ben, such as pocket placement, texture and fabrics. Hudson is one of the best when it comes to universal pocket placement – they make it pretty hard to get the mom-butt look, so go elsewhere if that’s what you’re looking for.
Some of my favorites from the collection are highlighted in the collage above. As far as the jeans go, I loved the cropped skinny with the buttons and the BAB blackish blue color offered in a few of the classic styles. In addition to denim, they also came out with a number of jackets and tops. Fashion Pulse’s Julia DiNardo and I joked we are all aboard the tank train – in reference to an eggplant cotton tank with tails (Julia is modeling it above on the bottom right) . Love! Nitrolicious’ Wendy Lam had her eye on the black convertable neck zipper jacket (top right). More pics after the jump! Read the rest of this entry »
When Bloggers Dine…
Last week, I had dinner with Jennine from The Coveted and Wendy of Nitrolicious. Over diet cokes and mac & cheese at Schillers on the Lower Eastside, we recapped the good, bad and ugly moments of fashion week, among other non-blogger topics. Wendy’s birthday is today, so I thought I’d dedicate this as a shout-out to her. I’ve gotten to know her pretty well over the past two years and she’s one of my favorite people in NYC. She is also responsible for introducing me to various new food addictions – the girl has good taste…literally!
If you have a minute, send her birthday wishes by commenting on her site. Here’s another (scary of me) pic!
