While bloggers from all over the world have made their way to New York Fashion Week, one of the most highly anticipated events doesn’t even involve a runway. The first ever international fashion blogger conference kicks off today thanks to Independent Fashion Bloggers. I have the pleasure of moderating the first panel kicking off at 10am EST on fashion blog marketing. This morning on my way to work, I trudged through the slush and frozen sidewalks to stop by Bryant Park for my first “official” Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week coverage this season. Avon was kind enough to invite me backstage at the Mackage A/W 2010 show to get a sneak peek of the models hair and make-up before they hit the runway.

According to Avon Global Stylist Advisor Tippi Shorter, who works with stars like Rihanna and Beyonce, the inspiration is themed around “the walk of shame” with hair slightly greased and loosely pulled back. She used Read the rest of this entry »

One of the most anticipated happenings by fashion bloggers and our supporters at New York Fashion Week (as confirmed by the LA Times), was the Independent Fashion Bloggers Dress Up Soiree and Evolving Influence Panel. I had the privilege of working closely with IFB founder, Jennine Tamm (also from The Coveted), on the planning and execution of the event. What fun! This is where my background as a communications strategist fully blended with my fashion blogger persona.

Vivienne Tam blew me away again with her spring 2010 presentation. She basically found a way to blend some of my favorite styles together ranging from boho tech to flirtacious glam. On top of that, she debuted the 2nd generation HP mini digital clutch  during the presentation…and even though I already have one from last season, I wannnnt it (brilliant marketing)! Ha!

I’ve had the opportunity to attend amazing shows so far at New York Fashion Week, but the one that took me the most by surprise has been  the G Star Raw show that took place tonight at the Hammerstein Ballroom. When Jennine from The Coveted told me it was one “not to miss,” I knew I had to make it work (have missed some shows due to conflicting priorities).
