I stopped by an intimate preview with lead Hudson Jeans designer, Ben Taverniti, and checked out the latest pieces for the holiday season. Side note: I can’t believe we’re already in mid-October! As a somewhat new Hudson fan girl and an obsessed denim hunter, I was excited to talk specifics with Ben, such as pocket placement, texture and fabrics. Hudson is one of the best when it comes to universal pocket placement – they make it pretty hard to get the mom-butt look, so go elsewhere if that’s what you’re looking for.

Some of my favorites from the collection are highlighted in the collage above. As far as the jeans go, I loved the cropped skinny with the buttons and the BAB blackish blue color offered in a few of the classic styles. In addition to denim, they also came out with a number of jackets and tops. Fashion Pulse’s Julia DiNardo and I joked we are all aboard the tank train – in reference to an eggplant cotton tank with tails (Julia is modeling it above on the bottom right) . Love! Last weekend, Captain Morgan hosted a party at Haze nightclub in Aria Las Vegas, welcoming Victoria’s Secret supermodel Marisa Miller as his new First Mate. Thanks to my new job (working with the Captain Morgan brand), I was lucky enough to attend in person. It was my first time meeting the Captain and I was blown away by his ability to take command of the entire club – life of the party wherever he goes. Marisa was stunning and sweet, wearing a slick and sparkly Herve Leger bodycon mini dress and Rock & Republic shoes.

What do Fashion Week goers do for fun outside the hours of the runway shows inside the tents? Fabulous cocktail parties, of course! Some might say sleep, but in all honesty, sleep always gets last priority. Kristin Booker (a dear blogger friend of mine over at Fashion Style Beauty) and Lianne Farbes (aka The Makeup Girl) hosted their annual Cocktails & Couture party last Saturday night at the Ted Gibson salon. What a great place for a glitsy gathering?!

Last month, I attended a fabulous Nine West fall collection preview hosted by Nine West Creative Director Fred Allard. It was the finale to a world tour showing the new line-up where Fred was accompanied by Gossip Girl stylist, Eric Daman.

Last night I attended HP’s pre-screening of Sex & the City 2, followed by a swanky after party at Bergdorf Goodman. Thanks to the amazing Vivienne Tam, I sported one of her colorful dresses from the Spring 2010 collection (what an honor! Thanks Amy for taking the pic of VT and me above). People kept taking my picture…which makes me wonder, either the photogs thought I was someone else, or they take pics of anyone who “might” be “someone.” Either way, it’s sort of flattering, but I’m definitely not a socialite.

One of my favorite parts about the evening? The people! I caught up with a lot of lovely bloggers/editors and some of my favorite, stylish PR girls. There were a lot of VIPs there as well. I am usually the last person to spot celebrities and even when I do, I act like they aren’t there. It’s probably because I spend my days as a publicist.
