Want to know why I’m at home on the couch on a Friday night in NYC? It’s been snowing for the past two days and we’ve accumulated over a foot…it’s slippery slush city out there! Yeah, let’s just blame it on that. Anyway, it’s been awhile since I’ve done an outfit post, so here goes…By the way, this photo was taken before the storm came in this week.

Lucky for me, Sorel Footwear generously sent me a pair of Hoonahs and I’ve honestly worn them at least four times since receiving them 10 days ago. I have seven (seriously) other pairs of black boots, but (more…)

Midtown Girl + Urban Signals on ABC!

Some of you may already know this, but I’ve been spending time with the beautiful people behind Urban Signals (hearts for CEO Aubree Nichols) as they make their mark in the location-best social networking world. Urban Signals is a mobile application, currently available for the iPhone (others coming soon), that allows you to see users that are around you, if they are available and the option to connect with them right then and there.

One of my new blogger bff’s, Amy Chandra of Midtown Girl, knows all about Urban Signals (read her post here) and on Valentine’s Day she was featured on ABC World News demoing the application! WOW - I’m so (more…)

Vivienne Tam Monster Cable Lux Ear Buds

Last Thursday I attended a breakfast at Vivienne Tam’s store in Soho where I got to see the unveiling of her special edition Butterfly in-ear speakers by Monster Cable. Aside from the fact that Vivienne is expanding her fashionable tech empire, it’s really exciting to see a new category of gadget catering to a style craving female audience.

The Butterfly headphones will be available this April for approximately $199. I know, as someone who has never spent more than $20 on ear buds, it might be a little tough to swallow at first. Here’s the thing - (more…)

Fashion 2.0 Social Media Awards

Over the past year, fashion brands have begun to embrace and excel in social media, meanwhile other social media leaders have captured the attention of fashion bloggers. To recognize the top contenders, Yuli Ziv and the Style Coalition hosted the first annual Fashion 2.0 Social Media Awards and the ceremony was held at the beginning of New York Fashion Week. When I was asked to be a presenter for “Next Big Thing,” I was honored to be a part of the special evening.

Vivienne Tam AW10: Origami Be Mine

I had the pleasure of going back stage to say a quick hello to Vivienne before her fall 2010 presentation this past Saturday. I’ve been a fan of her’s for a long time, but this was actually the first time we met…she’s even more sweet and humble than I imagined.

Her fall 2010 collection was elegant and feminine, as expected; but also involved sharper edges with layered textures, feathers, ruffles, ombre and more. Colors were mostly black, grey and neutral tones with hints of deep red. The fabrics, structure and shapes are what really tell the story of her collection. The first thing that came to my mind was romantic origami. Coincidentally, it was the night before Valentine’s Day. LOVE! See for yourself! (more…)

IFBCon @ NYFW: Tune In Live Today!

While bloggers from all over the world have made their way to New York Fashion Week, one of the most highly anticipated events doesn’t even involve a runway. The first ever international fashion blogger conference kicks off today thanks to Independent Fashion Bloggers. I have the pleasure of moderating the first panel kicking off at 10am EST on fashion blog marketing. Even if you’re not attending, you can peek inside the conference throughout the day because we are going to live stream at: http://heartifb.com/evolving-influence-live! Additionally, we have four bloggers planning to do live updates on their blogs - one during each panel (see below for more details).
