Kaboodle’s Fab @ Five Fête & Fashion Show (Psst…I’m in it!)

Hi friends, I have an exciting update to share! Next week at Internet Week New York on June 7, Kaboodle is putting on the first ever crowd-sourced fashion show in partnership with Bloomingdales called the Fab @ Five Fête & Fashion Show. The looks have been selected based on a styleboard contest a few weeks back AND the “models” are all media and bloggers including yours truly! I am beyond honored to be among the group, which I’ll share more about in an upcoming post.
As a side note, I’m totally terrified. I already have a repuation for falling down…a lot…so the thought of a runway in heels sounds like the perfect storm to showcase my clumbsiness in front of a live audience. That said, if I do fall, at least I’ll do it in superior style thanks to Kaboodle and Bloomies!
In case you haven’t played on Kaboodle.com before, here’s a little background: the Hearst owned social shopping site is the largest on the web with more than 1.5 million users and aims to make online shopping easier and more fun. This event is to celebrate the five year anniversary and unveil a brand new redesign of the site.
I have my fitting this week and between now and the show, you know I’ll be practicing my stiletto strut around my apartment.
Finally, if you’re in NYC and want to check it out, the details are here. If you’re not, you can follow via the Twitter hashtag #Kaboodle5 (the event is Tuesday, June 7 from 6-8pm EDT). You can also follow the action and get updates from @Kaboodle and @Bloomingdales.
PS If you have any advice for easing nerves (that might help reduce my chances of tripping), I’m listening!
Celebrating I Heart Heels…in Heels

In honor of the third of anniversary for I Heart Heels, creator Julie Wax asked 10 bloggers to show how they wear their favorite heels. I was flattered to be asked to participate and of course, had no hesitations about which shoes to wear – my Miu Miu Swallow Satin Platform Pumps.
Here’s how I wore them, but check out all the fabulous shoes in her post from Keiko Lynn, Eye4Style and Think Thru Fashion, among other stylish bloggers over at I Heart Heels! Also, feel free to share your favorite heels and how you wear them best!
- Blazer and top: GAP (you can’t see in the pic, but turned shirt into crop-top via knot in the front)
- Jeans: Hudson via Bloomies in March (fav jeans I own)
- Shoes: Miu Miu from the SS10 collection
- Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Bag
- Necklace: Converted from a belt that came with a dress
Introducing Life 2.Oh!
Hi friends,
I’m excited to share that I’ll be contributing to a new site called Life2PointOh!, which launched earlier this week. It’s all about 20-something girls conquering the quarter life and was started by Julie Miller (former editor at Seventeen.com who is now my colleague at Taylor), and Lauren Metz, a freelance journalist for E!, Bravo and other cool publications.
I’m not sure how frequent I’ll be posting yet, but my focus is on elevating your career and personal brand through all things geek chic…gadgets, style, etc.
I’ll still be posting on Clutch22 and want to thank you for sticking around through my inconsistent posting schedule and random non-fashion-related topics. To be completely transparent, what used to drive the content has shifted dramatically since moving to NYC and starting a new job. Expect to continue to see more of the random “whatever I feel like” stuff until I get some time to refresh the site and/or possibly bring on some support. Hopefully, you’ll find other value from it…even if only a smile (how can you not smile at stuff like Cute Roulette??).
In the meantime, go check out Life2PointOh!, they keep it fresh with cool stories everyday.
Clutch Site: Cute Roulette
So, I have a new favorite site thanks to my work buddy, Julie Miller. It’s called Cute Roulette and is basically an aggregator of adorable awesomeness (example above). I’m not even going to tell you anything more…go see for yourself! http://www.cuteroulette.com
It’s My Birthday – April Fool’s!
Anyone who knows me knows I’m a bit of a prankster. I like to flex my harmless, but mischievously creative muscles from time to time and April Fool’s Day is the perfect opportunity to do so where you don’t have to ask for forgiveness.
So…today I changed my Facebook profile to say my birthday (which is actually July 3) is today, April 1. Motives were pure. I work in digital marketing, which is something I’m very passionate about, and I wanted to think of a silly April Fool’s joke that I could also learn from for “work.” Research, you know? The results after about an hour of changing the date are after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
